He already stated that the heatsink was taken off and he is aware. Of course, he misspelled it saying that the "cpu an is off," when I'm sure he meant the "cpu Fan is off."

Don't forget to plug the 2 8-pin connectors into your GPU.

the 8 pin pluuged in and the 24 pin but still same problem. The fans spin once then lose power and no power to the computer. The on button on the mobo is lit up so it is getting power

Hmm... Im going to ask --- Im sure its already been checked -- but I skimmed comments and didnt see it mentioned:
Did you install the case standoffs that the motherboard screws into - or did you screw the motherboard DIRECTLY into the case? Without the standoffs - a PC will often not start because something is making direct contact with the case and shorting.

Also, you said it was getting power (fans spinning but then it drops power) but Im still going to ask this as well: Those headers on the motherboard that the buttons on your case attach to -- check those again to make sure you have + where + is supposed to be and - where - is supposed to be. That's an easy thing to get backwards.

Lastly --- I know you said you already did it -- but check that RAM again! Check it's pushed all the way till you hear a little clock and it clips in.

Ohh and I know I said lastly - but one more thing to check --- Is your Heat-Sink / CPU FAN sitting nice and tight over the CPU and did you use some thermal paste between the two? If you dont your temp might be instantly skyrocketing and thats why it shuts off so fast (to protect itself from heat damage --- great feature of processors these days).
It IS possible you have something defective -- like a bad motherboard or power supply --- but its very very unlikely, and since you said this is your first build, its probably something obvious and you are going to laugh about it later when you are all like "LoL I can't believe the CPU power pin was loose --- derp herpa derp lol"

Good to hear, I made some epic Herp Derps when I first started out building and occasionally still do when working with new hardware and learning about it. Also to put your mind at ease you probably haven't done any damage, I have shorted my sig rig a few times now (I'm not proud of this) first I busted my a USB port with out noticing and I plugged something into it and boom, lights out, still works tho haha and again with the power switch for my cathodes connections made contact with the casing and again lights out. Both times though it has turned back on with not one sign of damage, besides the broken USB port of course. Maybe I'm jus a luck SoB but most modern hardware will shut off before any real damage can be caused.
