For one reason or another, that game notoriously draws more power when played at maxed settings compared to any other game currently out on the market today.

BFBC2 also makes my CPU around 3-5C hotter than any other game I own. Lol.

<3 BFBC2 though. wubsmiley.gif

i have ran my gtx 580 at 99% with crysis, dirt3, heaven benchmark, stone giant, pyrit and other progs that take full advantage of the card and i put my clamp meter on the wires that go to the gfx card and the TOP, MAX amps i have seen the card pull was 12, usually around 11.X when it was under full load, and 12ampX 12 volts is only 144 watts , and that is with the core at 797mhz, ram at 1025mhz,

Cards don't just get power from the PCIe 6 and 8-pin connectors grasshopper. But also the PCIe rail itself....specs allow I believe 75W of power off the rail alone.

yea i knew it took power from the pcie slot itself, but i didnt think if it had an external power suppply ( 6&8 Pin) it would have no reason to pull much but a little bit from the pcie, also i thought when u run a dual rail psu, it would use one rail for cpu and board, and then the other rail for peripherals, so the card pulling power from the pcie slot would be comming from one rail and pulling power from the pcie 6&8 pin connectors would be from the other rail, ?? also i was reading about the cards pulling 250-300 watts, and what im getting 144 from the 6&8pin plus the pcie is 75 only = 219 . still doesn't add up in my situation, sorry if im missing something,
