Seems like removing the fan filter helps to keep the overall temp down too...

Manage to shave off another degree...

What's your ambient? If you're really serious about dropping temps have you thought about lapping?

Looks like I'm able to shave off about 3 Celsius with my proposed setup.
A 3c drop is about what other people get when they switch to top intake. You might wish to turn the rear top fan off and cover the fan position to see if it improves temps a bit. Even if you get the same temps, with one fewer fans running you get less noise.

BTW - where did you get that background shot? It's spectacularly beautiful.

+rep for doing the change, testing the temps and posting the results.

He's running a 2500k at 4.7GHz. And he's only using a Xiggy DK. And 80c is not too hot for a full load temp unless he does F@H or some other such 24/7 100% load. And those highest temps recorded by Real Temp are spikes. His steady state temps will be 2-3c less.

still, to hot for my taste, rather have a mild OC or stock settingsand keep everything cooler.

I think the original was better. I rather have less dust than a 3C drop.

His temp dropped 3c before he removed the fan filter. I recommend them; use fan filters myself.

Fan filters are basically a necessity on any intake fan. Unless you like vacuuming your computer every other day. And in fact, listen to remix, having a positive pressure setup with proper fan filters will have less dust than a negative pressure rig. The negative pressure will suck in unfiltered air through every crack in the rig. The positive pressure ensures that all incoming air is filtered, and the air is seeping out of the cracks rather than in.

I'm using H60 btw for my 2500k. Not DK.

Like ehume said, I'm not folding.

Max temp when I'm playing game is about 65c which I spent most of my time doing with my computer. Not too bad I would say.

As for my wallpaper, sorry couldn't recall where I got it from. It's been a year or so since I first use it.

try using the first front top fan as intake and the back top fan as exhaust
