Thinking about going AMD 6950

I'm not sure which brand to buy. I'll be buying two of them for eyefinity 3 + crossfire.

I have an active display port to DVI adapter right now made by HIS... I'd like to keep using it as it seems versatile. Idk how well or how for that matter the mini-dp ports work..

My 965 is definitely bottlenecking my single card (OC past 900 core changes nothing) so spending money for a new CF with your current setup might be pointless, also don't base decision to buy because unlockability- mine unlocked, but 1:did not give me any performance increase 2: started to artifact even on desktop w/out any OC

oh sorry, I should've mentioned I'm ditching my AMD box completely. rebuilding from the ground up

Intel i7 2600k
Intel DP67BG
Intel X-25SSD
I'm getting a nice package deal on all intel gear, so taking advantage of it less than $300.00

Mushkin Ram (16 GB worth 4x4GB)
Probably gonna buy another one of the same PSU
An H60 Cooler
Potentially the 6950s

It's a strong card. If your wanting 6970 performance just buy a 6970 however is my strong suggestion.

If you do want a 6950 over clock don't unlock by flashing BIOS, unless you don't care about your warranty if you brick it. Not all unlocks are successful. Not all bricked cards can be brought back from the dead. If it's bricked and you can't flash BIOS back to original you won't be able to replace it with RMA warranty.

Good luck on your build. Always fun designing one from ground up. I just completed mine including monitor, speakers, Wi-Fi router, and 3D glasses. Started in December and finished last week. Feels good.
