Towerclimb

Today on my travels, I saw myself.
Not in a mirror or any reflective surface mind you, but in a little game known as Towerclimb.

I'm not kidding, one the characters is literally named after me.

Anybody whose enjoyed the parkour sections from Assassin's Creed should get a hearty kick from this. You scale walls, ceilings, and ground in order to accomplish your goal.

YOU GOTS TO GET HIGH MANG!

For you see, your fate lies in the clouds above. However, the journey will not be an easy one. Every single level in this game is randomly generated. From the monsters, to the items, and the scenery around you. It gives the game a nice "One more time" feel, which quickly becomes an addiction. There's even random natural disasters, like lava suddenly rising up or a flood which forces you to think on your toes. You're not in it alone though. You start off with a few items at your disposal, a trusty arsenal of potions. Potions that let you double jump, ones that let you destroy sections, and ones that let you teleport anywhere on the screen.

The environments are varied as well. You won't be forced to stare at the same castle walls or green plains for too long. The farther you get, the more ferocious everything around you gets. Needless to say, you best be keeping on your tippy toes.

It's important to remember one thing while playing this, no situation is impossible. Can't get over a jump? Just blow a hole in the wall nearby and climb up. Don't have any potions left? Find the potion shaman and he'll hook you up (provided you've collected enough berries). It's a delightful game and worthy of a least a few playthroughs.

"Anybody whose enjoyed the parkour sections from Assassin's Creed"

Only part in the first game I enjoyed. I would love a straight free running game, like ME without the cops.

These games are honestly for the most part, barely worth the bandwidth it takes to download them. It's probably just how tired I am, that I really couldn't care about poor controls and pool random level generators.

The game's still in Alpha, the creator said he's got a souped up version coming out soon.

You'd be surprised at how competitive people get over TC scores.
