am i the only one who thinks this ram is insanely good??

this 16gb kit from gskill runs at 2133mhz, cas 9.

http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=371

First off, 16gb 2133mhz. 'The o' so great' Corsair doesn't even match that.

Secondly, 2133mhz cas9, thats not insane but still pretty beastly, but combined - 16gb 2133mhz and still remaining stable at cas 9 - imo this is really really good.

i have this ram, but i have 2 of the 8gb kits and luckily they are stable, and oc'ed it a bit to 2155mhz. The 8gb and 16gb are exactly the same obviously they sell the 16gb as a kit to guarantee it will work though.

but back to the point, the fastest ram i have found which isnt from gskill for 16gb is corsair vengeance, which only runs at 1600mhz cas 9.

il admit, you pay a price premium, more accurately almost double, but imo this is worth it, simply because it actually is quite a lot faster, and also for bragging rights!

does anyone else share my view this is epic ram? sorry for rambling

They are meant to be insanely good, so your surprise is, in fact, no surprise at all.

actually they are relevant. find me a graph showing they arent. Be it the differences arent amazing, the differences between 1333mhz and 2133mhz is quite large.

I believe there was a study showing that for gaming purposes, lower ram timings>speed. I'll have to go find it.

It a combination of the two, ram speed and timings. Always has been, always will be.

1333 7-7-7-21 average

1600 7-7-7-21 good

1866 7-7-7-21 extremely good

2133 7-7-7-21 godly

Tighter timings is good as well, if someone has to loosen timings too much to get higher frequency it kinda negates the performance boost.
Even so in general higher frequency rated ram is easier to get tight timings with lower frequency/voltage.
