I have the E2000 and I do not have any issues with it at all, I love it in fact its the best router ive ever had. Has all the nice extra features like like port forwarding ect ect.

E2500 because it has simultaneous dual band, the E2000 dual band is pretty useless since u can only have 1 at a time and most devices use 2.4GHz

E2500 doesn't have gigabit... Would definitely get the E2000.
