Diablo 2 low fps/slideshow

Thread Starter
Playing on my sig rig lol. I heard windows 7 makes diablo 2 laggy. 3dfx glide wrapper/window mode doesnt help at all. Playing with a necromancer with like 20 monsters on screen fighting gets me like 3 fps and its really pissing me off. any way to fix this?

I recommend running the game in windows xp compatibility or you could install windows xp mode for windows 7,its free and official from microsoft, download and install it and you will run the game inside windows 7 but running like on XP.
That should do it.
Good luck!

If you are playing online in co-op, I'm pretty sure it's due to server lag. I used to get it alot too.

I'm playing the game right now! My settings are as follows:

Compatibility, XP SP3
UNCHECK 256 colors
UNCHECK 640x480
CHECK disable visual themes
CHECK disable desktop comp
CHECK disable display scaling
CHECK run as an admin

I am running svens glide wrapper.

Have you tried running in the other video modes?

EDIT: Could this be a crossfire issue? Have you tried with one card?
