Looking for a new monitor

Thread Starter
I need a new monitor for gaming. I want a monitor that doesn't have ghosting issues. My current monitor has a very noticeable white trail behind moving objects and because it is noticeable it always distracts me. I don't care if the monitor is IPS or TN. My budget is $300. And I want something around the range of 1080p.

I always recommend this because I love it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236059
Though honestly with your budget you could get something quite a bit fancier.
(No ghosting by the way.)

DVI and HDMI are pretty much identical in terms of what the cables contain. Image quality is perfectly identical on both.

The only differences between DVI and HDMI:

DVI

Sometimes has more bandwidth
Tighter connector

HDMI

Can carry audio
Smaller connector

No image quality differences whatsoever.

So what's "ewww" about DVI?

You forgot to mention that the newer versions of the HDMI cables can carry ethernet as well.

nothing horrible, i am just trying to have less weight attached to my cards, i love running 4 monitors, but having 4 DVI cables hang off the back seems a little heavy, also, my DVI cables aren't full DVI i don't think they aren't completely covered in Pins. only have the cable actually has pins, and iw as told this isnt true DVI connection

I don't really care about speakers but is there something a little bit fancier I can get? Otherwise I may get the ASUS VH238H. But I was also looking at the Dell IPS Ultrasharps. How are those on ghosting?

Fancier? It's a computer monitor, not a designer shoe.
The Asus VH236H and Asus VH238H are easily the best monitors you can get south of $200.
