Reset BIOS on 6950, HELP!

Thread Starter
Can someone write a detailed guide on how to reset the bios after unlocking the shaders, or even link me to one? Ever since I have done it, I can't control my fan speed in CCC. It's hovering at 5800-6000 rpm (shown on gpu-z) and I'm scared it's going to blow up! I've re installed drivers and everything, this is my last hope, otherwise I guess the GPU is faulty.

Thank you to anyone who helps!

Do you not have the bios swicth on your card? if so, switch it to bios 2 and keep on gaming.

I switched it to 2 and tried to boot, still insane fan speed, guess the GPU is faulty frown.gif

use GPU-z to make a copy of the bios with the switch in the 2 position, then use atiwinflash to flash that bios back onto the card in the 1 position.....

That way at least you've got a stock bios if you're RMAing the card.

Lower the fan speed in CCC to 20%(min) and then set a custom fan profile in MSI AB- on my PC with 11.6 the fan speed in CCC keeps checking itself and keeps the fan to whatever speed is, lowering it to 20% and then setting custom profile in AB will override this

Blind flash the card after you hack the bios to allow for flashing. Read the blind flash that's current right now.
