nubby laptop game recommendations please

So I'm flying like a ridiculous amount the next few months, thankfully the longest flight is only 4-5 hours. I have my school laptop, toshiba satellite a505, it's a dual core i3 2.1 i5 I believe...shared graphics and whatnot.

Any game recommendations that could last about 2-3 hours on a flight? Or what do you guys put on your laptops for flights?

Torchlight would probably run, it even has a netbook mode if it doesn't run on low settings (possibly higher) to begin with.

Maybe some of the "casual" games like Peggle, Plants vs Zombies, AudioSurf, one of my personal casual favorites Swords and Soldiers HD.

If you know programming, it's also a great chance to work on that.

Pick up some good classic games, thief or hitman series can always keep you going for awhile and the old ones aren't demanding.

Torchlight, Command and Conquer Generals, Plants Vs. Zombies, etc...

There are plenty of games you could get, but I ALWAYS played C&C:G.

Strategy games will prob be a good friend here, they tend to not be too demanding so you will be able to run some newish ones as well i would guess, my friend can get Starcraft II going on his i3 380m based machine using IGP.

One of my favourites from a while ago is rise of nations, i still play it quite a bit.
The two Dungeon Keeper games are very good, and usually overlooked, they have some great humour in them and should run fine on integrated graphics

can't think of any more ATM but will edit post if i do.

Cool... maybe he should try Shogun 2

Alright all joking aside I would probably mess with mine craft or emulators like project 64.

Yea emulators are prob a good idea, Minecraft maybe not so much depending on how powerful the laptop is, tried playing it on a lower end i3 laptop once and it was terrible, was even slow with tiny draw distance.

Actually just thought of the TrackMania games as well, they are great fun and TrackMania Nations is free ( Sunrise extreme is best though )

I would reccomend getting a PSX emulator or some other emulator and playing older games, like Final Fantasy VII, Pokemon, Golden Sun

(only get an emulator/emu games if you already own them btw to avoid copyright infringement issues *winkwink*)

Thats what I play duing air travel, because the games arent demanding and are good enough to pass 3-4hours at an airport. For newer games, I would recommend getting Morrowind maybe Oblivion if your laptop can run it.

Oh Trackmania is a great game as well. One of my favorite time wasters. Seriously worth checking out. If you wait a little while longer you might be able to get the full paid version on Steam at the Summer Sale for $10. Well worth it.
