Yes, I know headsets incorporate a mic, and headphones don't. Yes, I know sound cards improve the audio of any headset or headphones. When you incorporate a mic into a pair of headphones though, most people agree you sacrifice in audio quality. The Gamecom headphones break very easily, they are not that durable, I do not recommend those. Again, the RX700's are very durable and will last you an infinite amount of time longer than the Gamecoms. If your going to close your mind to finding a headset, with a mic attached, and not headphones, then I recommend the Razer Carcharias. I had one for a year and a half and had no problems what so ever with it, until I smacked the hell out of it and I busted the mic, but I got a replacement from best buy in 2 hours. Extremely comfortable. Mic hides out of site when your not using it. Decent audio quality, nothing compared to the RX700's though. Small bass.

This.

EDIT: Derp. My mistake. I skipped over a sentence in your first post that did in fact say you want one with a mic My apologies
No Problem everyone does a miskate

depending on what u said i buy razer cause it better than all the headphones i listed?

And Thank You Again

Your welcome for the help that I did provide lol Sorry for making a recommendation away from what you asked XP But, IMO, yes, the Razer is pretty durable, the material used on the headband is fairly flexible compared to how rigid the Gamecom's are and that's what causes them to break so easily. The Carcharias are also so comfortable I wore them for 14 hours straight for a gaming session and didn't feel a thing. The audio quality isn't too bad, I can hear footsteps in medal of honor if they are close to me, like just on the other side of a wall, but it does lack in bass. I think it's a good price for it at $63. I paid $86 for mine XP had a replacement plan luckily though so when I did break it, replaced it no problem and saved $86 lol

The Razer's mic is very low volume you will need boost. It also has a slight static behind it unless you use noise reduction features which "may" make you sound more robotic.

The speakers sound good compared to anything Plantronics by far, however they have very little bass if at all. They are also prone to breaking for unknown causes at joints where the wires go in or out of the volume control or the ear cups.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. My Razer mic works great. I don't need a boost for my friends to hear me in skype or my squadies to hear me on BF2. No static behind it at all. I have noise reduction and cancellation on and I don't sound robotic in the slightest manner.

And I do hope that comment calling me a noob in head phones is sarcastic, seeing as you're the one who rejected the cheap, but much better quality option of RX700's + a zalman mic as an audio set up. Don't knock something until you try it. Don't say Razer has bad mic quality just because other people have problems with it, until you use it and experience problems with it your self.

I can say that with fact. My buddy let me use his Razer Megalodons for a few days and oh man was that mic a piece of crap. Static so bad sometimes, that in skype Id have to mute my mic to prevent hurting the ears of my friends.

Don't buy Razer for audio. I suggest like many have said a good pair of headphones and a clip on mic. Trust me you wont regret it. Also I don't see why would wouldn't want this option, better sound quality, good mic quality, cheaper price?

1. I was referring to the OP.

2. The static in the mic can be fixed by using a USB hub.

3. That's what I tried to suggest originally. He didn't like the idea.

hopefully this will fix rivaldog's opinion and why we generally steer people away from razer headphones, usually steer them away from razer products in general...

LOL. Never seen that before. Will have to use that from now on; it explains things very nicely.. if a little bluntly.
