Recommendation of gfx card

Thread Starter
Hey guys

I was wondering what graphics card would you recommend from the following?

gtx 570
ati 6970
ati 6950

I have long since been a nvidia fan boy and all my cards have been nvidia, but having said that the ati cards on the market now look like pretty good value for money. I was wondering if you guys could lend help me in decidng on which gfx card I should get.

Some notes:
*I am currently running a gtx 260
*I will be using the card primarily for gaming
*I would like to later on invest in a similar card for crossfire and or sli

Thank you

Ren

6950 2GB!!!
Try and get an older model off of one of these OCN'ers and you may be able to unlock it to a 6970! Best bang for the buck, no doubt!
The gtx 570, you wont even need a second one unless you plan on getting more monitors or a way higher res, then at that point an ATI card would be better due to the extra VRAM (6970, 6950 2gb)
ATI 6970, the chances of finding an unlockable 6950 2GB are very slim.

Ya, for a single monitor, I would go with the 570, but for a multi monitor/high res setup, the 2GB 6950 is the better choice.

Between a gtx 570 and ati 6970 which is the more 'powerful' one its just I am looking to purchase a card I wont have replace for awhile. As for not having to sli or crossfire I want to! I need to.. justify the fact for owning a Asus rampage 3

Well, they are really neck and neck. I'm not sure about now though with 11.6 CCC, that might of changed things.

defs go with the 6970. unlockable 6950's are rare. plus, when the newer cards come out, add another 6970. that will be enough to last at least 3 years.
