6970+6970+6990 Quadfire? - Page 2

Thread Starter
well this tiny 6950 has issues running Metro 2033 on just a single monitor, so its not good enough, and im thinking the dual 6970s stock will have issues with my 1100T even after its OC'd to around 4.+ using stock cooling + 5x 120mm fans in a NZXT Gamma case.

Either way it doesnt matter as is appears Newegg is holding my order for some reason . . . . . I paid for rush processing so I would have it on monday and now I am not going to get it until 3 days later maybe

Their rush order is a scam!

6950's rock dude, and they rock more in quadfire lol. You seem to know it already, your amd cpu will bottleneck. I'd say get a SB setup and another 6950/6970 for cfx for now. Then add on later.

no matter how high you clock your amd setup... it's gonna be a bottleneck.

ESPECIALLY with all that raw gpu strength.

For reference my 570s at 900/1800/2104 and my 2600k@ 4.7ghz nets me 77.04 fps in the metro benchmark

same clocks on my gpus and with an upped cpu clock at 5.0ghz i see 4-5 fps(81-82 fps) difference (just a 300mhz bump)
from this we can assume that my 2600k at 4.7 ghz was holding back my 570s at that clock speed.
You will need alot of cpu power man.

This is a little off-topic but it certainly isn't a scam. If you order in the afernoon and need it shipped that day then rush ordering may save your bacon.

If your order in the morning, it's going to ship out anyway.
