Anyways, I've been running a 4.0GHz overclock ever since I got the CHIV, with my CPU voltage at 1.45. Everything has been fine except sometimes my computer will randomly reboot while playing BFBC2. I'm told this is due to the overclock, and under normal clocks this doesn't happen so I would consider that confirmed.
I have all the usual crap in BIOS turned off for overclocking purposes, multiplier(20x) and CPU voltage are pretty much the only things I've touched in there for the actual overclock. I bumped my CPU voltage up one step, still had the problem, bumped it up another step, still had the problem.
Should I bother going any higher on the core voltage? I haven't hit 1.46v yet, temps aren't a problem but I don't want to throw more power at my CPU if it doesn't need it. The reboot during BFBC2 is the only problem I've ever had with this rig in the last year, and that only happens when overclocked...I'm hoping I can resolve this without having to downclock.
I'm not 100% sure, but I have this issue with my system throwing 3.7Ghz With BFBC2. I think both of our CPU's has C2 stepping, which sadly holds back so much for Black edition's. But, the happy thing is, that I can unlock to a X4 B50 with the Right Board, and Overclock a bit. I'm just trying to decide to get a Core i3 if I don't get the job I applied to, Or if i get it, and Then I'll work for about a month and have enough to get a i5-2500k Build for 800$, and some have said even cheaper, like 650$...
