GPU or CPU? And some other questions :)

Thread Starter
Hello

I have a Phenom 9600 with a M3N78-VM (Am2+) with a GT240 DDR2 (yes DDR2...)

Heres my questions... In order because, some questions depends on an asnwer of another question...

1. Should I upgrade the CPU over the GPU? CPU upgrade will be the Phemom2 955 BE, or the GPU (recommend one, under 150$ CAD please

2. If I get the CPU, should I be able to get to 3.8 around ish, with a M3N-78VM (I think because this MObo seems to overvolt like "+50mV, +100mV and +150mV"
So I don't know if I can go that high with just +150mV to the stock voltage..

EDIT : Here's a thread that I found, he seems to be able to get to 3.7 ghz on stock volts +50, so in theory I can try for 4.0ghz? http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=314747&page=1

Thanks !

I'm tending to agree except I'd go so far as saving for a whole new budget PC.

But as far as best improvement right now, I'd get a new GPU. Not only will it be the biggest jump in technology but it will also be easily moved to a new system later on. GTX460 768mb can be had new around 120$ usually, and is a good choice for 1080p gaming.
AMD, I give up.
