would an 1100T bottleneck 570 SLI? - Page 6

post #51 of 146
Here is Crysis 2 bench:

Q9550 @ 3.9GHz + GTX480 @ 850/1025MHz

Map = Central Park

Resolution = 1280x 1024,

Settings = Extreme ,

FSAA = 4x

VSync = OFF

Avg FPS = 97 ..

2500K @ 4.5GHz + GTX570 @ 850/1000MHz

Map = Central Park

Resolution = 1280x 1024,

Settings = Extreme ,

FSAA = 4x

VSync = OFF

Avg FPS = 97

So no bottleneck there,GPU is @ 99% all the time on both setups even on such low resolution like 1280 x 1024..

Even though 2500K is running 4.5GHz and a Q9550 @ 3.9GHz.. (also check CPU usage)

So I doubt it that a PII X6 would be a bottleneck for a single GTX570..

CHEERS..

Unfortunately I can't benchmark Crysis 1.
Are there any other games you guys would like me to try?

My goal is to show you CPU usage and GPU usage side by side while running games.

Read my prior post. Thuban does not bottleneck most games in 2-way SLI (with high IQ settings). Yes, Thuban will bottleneck SC2 and Civ5 though (but Civ5 is excruciatingly slow even on 2600k during end game).

Thuban can bottleneck 3-way 570 SLI.

I suppose it has been said multiple times, but according to my own experience my 1090T @ 3,9ghz doesn't bottleneck most games as long as I run them at high resolutions and details (AA+AF & whatnot).

I'm running the sig's rig, with a GTX 480 SLI.

Edit: So the bottomline is that for benchmarking purposes (lower resolutions & details), go for Intel, but if you run at big resolutions and high details your GPUs will (almost) always be the bottlenecking factor.

OP has a 1080p screen, are we to assume hes getting a monster 1600p $1000 screen as well?

I agree with the right IQ settings and a big enough res the gpu load will be so high SLI stock 570s won't bottleneck a Phenom II, in fact it probably wouldn't bottleneck a Athlon 2 or 775 either.

We should assume the OP is talking about @ 1080p, since that is the screen he has and he has never mentioned spending $1000 or more for a single monitor.

One of the main games the OP mentioned was Crysis, simply put a Phenom II will bottleneck in that game @ 1080p. So to keep this from turning into "I don't bottleneck in X game with my setup at Y res without providing proof of said claims" Phenon II will bottleneck in steam games as well as Crysis on two 570s.

Here is proof to that effect as well.

http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/8073...gpu-usage.html

Unless one of the other members here can demonstrate a Phenom II getting over 60 fps with dual fermi cards in Crysis I think this thread has run its course.
