Happy with my 890FX board now.
Early adoption can be a pain.

I like the asrock boards but did not go with my theme that was one of the reasons I went with the ST and not the CH:V

I just thought of the reason, and don't know why I did not see it before!!! IT will work on all amd boards if they don't do it right lol wow what jerks

does anyone else agree? I think that's it

NM man. trying to decide which AM3+ board to get
can't decide between UD5, Sabertooth, or whatever ASRock's top of the line is
Also can't decide if I should get it now or after the chips launch
Kinda want to see some benches first

I agree 100%, Thinking it's an NVIDIA thing.
They would basically enable SLI on all boards with 2 PCI-E lane and have nothing to show for it
Or maybe the mobo makers want to sell the newer boards
it loses a selling point if you can just enable SLI on older boards

well the sabertooth is a great board no doubt about that! like it more than my old M4n98td-evo which I still liked but it really was a ugly board lol and as I was doing that Lian Li switch couldn't have ugly in it lol, I have to tell you it overclocks better!!!! I am redoing from scratch as I want to see if I can get more than I had with the EVO and I was topped out with that set up in this board as well so now taking advantage of that LLC and a few other neat things

I hate to quote what can be seen as a "sarcastic" post and be like " thumb.gif right on mate, preach that like its hot!" (my slang and buzz words are so outdated and lame) but its really true.... And I don't mean this to be directed at anyone specific - but just I hugely agree with this in principle~ The SLI issue was mentioned in every review I looked at when these boards were released... And I never suggest buying anything "blind" - especially with the world economy on the fritz and money becoming tighter for a large majority of individuals~

Does it suck? Absolutely
Is it fair / right / etc? No!
Was it hidden from people buying boards? Iunno I see it mentioned a lot but not everyone reads reviews and the 'Cliffnotes' version of most spec lists don't get into the details about "kinda supported right now, with promise of increased support in the near and semi-near future"

So with all that I just mentioned being considered - I'm disappointed but not shocked / caught off-guard. As was mentioned above my post, this is first generation just being rolled out level of feature - not something I would suspect to be flawless from the get go~

Also to add a bit of: Can Someone Please Confirm! --- I had read that the SLI feature was ONLY going to be on the boards from vendors who ALREADY had SLI agreements / licenses with Nvidia... So if you get an off-beat vendor who does NOT make an SLI board on the Intel side of the river, then they were NOT being authorized to produce an SLI board on the AMD side. Please correct this if its not accurate...

Just have to be patient I guess. The board will do native SLI but Nvidia has not released any drivers for it yet. Im sure on their first release since, the boards came out, it will support SLI. All their previous drivers havent had to support SLI on AMD chipsets.
