[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2311H-Widescreen-DisplayPort/dp/B003QTKV9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308514207&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com: Dell UltraSharp U2311H 23-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Display eIPS 1080p LCD Monitor w/ DVI & DisplayPort: Computer & Accessories[/ame]

Which one of these should I get? Is there anything wrong with either one?
I am sorta leaning towards the 27" because at least it will be an upgrade in size from my poor old LG 24". How is the quality of the 27"? Everyone raves about the dell.

What I want to do with the monitor:

Watch movies and tv shows
Game (CS:S, SC2, BF3, DIRT 3 so kinda fast games)
Screw around on the web
Light web design/photo editing.

So if it can do that stuff well then it is good for me.

side note:
I was also thinking of getting 2 of these

But honestly I kinda like a big screen and don't see the point in 2.

of those two I would go with the Dell - the sceptre is going to have a poor quality screen, poor viewing angles, light bleed, etc. - overall you're much better off going with the Dell [ips, excellent viewing angles, excellent quality], although there are some Dell 24" ones that you can get for the same price as the Sceptre.

Ok personally I would go with the dell u2311h. The reason being that this is an ips panel and the other is a tn panel. The u23 might not be any bigger but it will have a picture quality that cant be matched by the 27in. In terms of gaming the u2311h actually does pretty good. Its input lag is about 10 ms(input lag is the time from when you click to when the display does what ever you told it to do). That may not be as fast as the 27 but is actually pretty fast. An example would be that I can click 2 times in about 10 ms. In the games you posted the only real game I could imagine you noticing it would be cs:s it is very fast paced and the lag may be noticeable. sc2 maybe if you are insanely fast. But in all honesty most people dont ever notice it. But for your photo editing and web design there isnt even a contest the dell wins.

But if you dont care about super accurate color the 27 will still look great and you will get a bigger monitor. But im not too familiar with scepter so I dont know how good of a monitor you will get. And with the dell you get portrait mode which is great for photo editing.

Hope this helps

I have the sceptre 27in and its a pretty good monitor i don't have any light bleed the color seems good and viewing angles seems decent too me.

But ya ips screens has the best colors and stuff which i have my dell 2007 20.1in widescreen ips next too it in portrait and the colors are a bit deeper and stuff, But the sceptre is also great which why im using it as my main monitor.

And its also nice too have 27in of monitor:) I had 3 monitor of eyeinfity before this but kinda got tired of how much room it takes which i have a big desk even, And got tired of games not supporting it 100% lol And i do like this setup now with the dell on the side in portrait mode for my apps and stuff when gaming:)

I went with the Dell just to be safe. I am sure the sceptre 27 is a good monitor but I will go for the cheaper, quality monitor instead. Maybe one day I will add on a second of these dell monitors or another. Maybe I can even fix my poor old LG 24"... still am so mad that broke.

Thanks guys smile.gif I'll let u know how I like it when it gets here.

You've made a wise choice but just missed the sale!! I think it was $40 in the states and $99 off here in Canada just a few days ago.
