H60 push/pull - intake or exhaust

chaps, just picked me self up an h60 and pretty wicked i have it setup as the manufacturer has stated and that's it sucking air into the case rather than blowing it out from inside your sucking ambient room temps from out side in, just a Q, obviously the insides are getting a little hotter i take it, i do have an intake cold external at the front and an exhaust vent at the top...

What you guys think? leave it and see, or turn it round and use it as an exhaust

I have mine as intake. Works great. I have quite a bit of airflow in my case however. Not that difficult to try it out both ways and see what works best for you.

yeah thanks for, that added and extra fan as push and pull, and intaking at the minute, I'll give it a coupled days and then maybe change it over, suppossed to be better as an intake some how creating and negative flow stopping dust getting in side the machine.....

Intake will yeild better temps. The air outside of the case is colder than the air inside the case. I had my 120mm rad set as an exhaust then decided to switch it to intake. When I did that I saw 4c temp drop on my gpu's. Mind you this is just a 120mm radiator too.

Thanks for that then, think im quite happy with it then......might just leave it as it is, can't be bothered to remove it and install it again if it going to be worse, just seems a strange template sucking air in.....

Intake will give slightly better temps, as the outside temp is lesser than the inside case tamps.

temps crept up slowly from around about 26 degrees to about 34 which is a massive improvement to the idle temps of about 46 - 50 ish! so big improvement, just a little worried that the inside is heating up, but looks good and temps are cooler.

I have run my h70 as both intake and exhaust... I find that I get 2-3 deg cooler on CPU and 8 deg cooler on mobo running as exhaust

well found out that the MB temps and the graphics card etc as you'd expect are lower with using it as an exhaust but CPU is the same so looks as though it's better this way i guess as the unit inside is cooler and the CPU the same....

Yea with a cpu only loop you probably wont notice a difference. When you add in a gpu or two your dumping way more heat. When I did some testing with exhaust and intake, this was a 120mm rad, I noticed a big difference in temps. I always kept my 360 rad as an intake because it was up top, but couldnt make up my mind on what to do with the 120 rad. In the end I left it as intake as well.

The most ideal setup would be to have the radiator externally mounted. But this isnt appealing to the eye so hardly anyone ever does it. Ive actually seen someone go as far as hanging a 360mm rad out a window during the winter time in order to acheive the ultimate overclock. It definately worked, but once winter was over he had to redo his loop and mount the radiator inside the case. Almost more trouble then it's worth.
