it would cost a gazillion times more too though - which stops it from being a fair comparison

finally we agree

i get em cuz they are fun project rigs. im only gona run 2. they get decent points, decent power usage.

and supports up to gtx 260 for crunching aswell. all you gotta do is "hotknife" the pciexpress slot.

not that i will. most i will ever do is stick my 9800gtx+ on one of em when i upgrade my main

Use a riser - don't have the risk of damaging the board then as you're only cutting a $3 adapter. Works great - it's how one of my 450s is folding right now.

Why would it only support a 260? If it has any kind of PCIe slot you'd be able to add in any kind of PCIe GPU - even a 590...

i dont know why you would spend 3$.. the board only costs 9$ from the seller. think its worth the risk

and also about the gpu. im not sure thats what i was told by the masters of this board over in the 300page thread on XS

on another note im gona be getting a quad socket quadcore opteron rig soon. kinda stoked.

I thought you'd bought the whole lot for $120 or so.

Now the quad quad board is a different kettle of fish - that should put out some serious crunching...

Yes but.

Board = 9$
Cpus = 10$ each
Heatsinks = 13$ each
Lianli Backplate = 5$ +/-

Hard drive = 20$ each or so
Fans = Noctua. = 60$

LOL i spent more on fans for em than i did on the rigs themselfs. just becuase i wanted to make em look fun

i bought the second one built. i bought the parts for the first one and put it together myself.
