(EPA/other) Silver may have other impacts... - Page 2

The production of the electric you use to run your pc will probably do more damage then the little bit of silver in the loop, if you really want to be good to the planet we should all go back to growing our own food using the peelings as compost, which would cut down rubbish in landfill or burnt.

Ok getting off soap box now

What hapopens when WC becomes the norm for most computer builders?

With the current trend (having corsair introduce everyone to liquid cooling and all) the way it is, this may actually become a concern in the near future (5-7 years).

What then?

Then copper and aluminium should still be cheaper than watercooling and intel and AMD will probably still go with the cheaper non-watercooling solution.
Plus even if they go for a closed loop watercooling setup, do those closed loops actually use silver?

Edit: Or just aluminium, some of their chips already use pure aluminium sinks. (Clarkdale)
Oh and I don't use silver in my loop so I'm not biased in that regard.

I dump it on my neighbors lawn. *shrug*
im serious.. if u guys have a swimming pool, u may as well dump it in there.

Gaurentee your pool has more gunk in it then your used coolant will, unless u have corrosion.

And the unused silver ions will help clean it too...

once again, unless u have corrosion.
