Water Cooling Nub, help? - Page 4

Have you considered a rasa 750 kit? It is pretty much the go-to recommendation for any newcomer to water cooling. Not too expensive, yet not so cheap that it's garbage. A good beginner setup to hoping in the deep in, so to speak.

It was recommended to me as my first water cooling setup and I'm cooling my sig rig with it. Gotta say, the price vs performance is beautiful. I pulled out the stock tubing for green primochill and pulled the stock fans for gentle typhoon ap-15s.

A quick google of your case shows that you may be able to fit, at the most, a 240 rad at the top. I doubt much more is fitting internally. If you go with an external rad, your options are pretty much anything you want. For gpu and cpu, though, def would need a 240 + 120 or 360.

I just had an idea. Probably a bad one. But I'll let you guys tell me if it'll work or not....

Would this work, with somewhat quiet fans still? Again, this is for a CPU / GPU loop.

u mean stacking rads... no..

biggrin.gif

The air required though a stacked rad, is immense... and i honestly dont see u needing it.

I need to see your case to visualize what would look nice.
And i wouldnt worry too much about your CPU... SB's arent cookers... and i know the heat load on a single 580GTX.

Anyone who tells u, that u need more then 120x3 total rad coverage area, is trying to just trying to pump your manhood. tongue.gif

MMM... what will you need?
Typically... a cpu block + radiator + reservior + pump + barbs + tubing + Clamps + Gpu block + fans + fan controller.

Sadface....

Back to the drawing board..... I didn't want it external anyway honestly. Still gotta figure this out for a 240+120 setup. thinking.gif

Just take a look at the product images on newegg on my case (I don't have a camera sadly).

And I know I don't need more than 360mm of rad space. Was just an idea. But yes, I would prefer it all internal. And with the ability to fit a Lian Li A05 case later.

oh ... can u floor mount a 120x1? instead of rear mounting it?

And top mount a 120x2?

Stay away from off sized rads, because ur limited on the fan selection to the rads.

also right next to your motherboard.. u think theres room for a 60mm tube res?
actually it looks too tight... :T

Might need to go bay res... :\

There's no spot to make a bottom mount, no. It's either rear mount the 120, or it won't mount at all. And it wouldn't bother me TOO terribly badly if the rear mounted 120 radiator is external, with the fan internal pushing if I had to do that.

And no, there's no room beside the board. The res was going to be a 5.25" bay res (dual bay I think??? I dunno). I have 2x 5.25" bays to work with, and a little room on the case floor (not enough for a rad tho).

Keep in mind, that is an older picture with my old AMD setup, and a GTX470.

Could always get something like this if you are short on internal space......

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_457_335_986&products_id=30316

Put your rad, pump, and reservoir in there and put it in a convenient place.

mmm..... how much room exactly do you have next to your PSU?

How about a swiftech microres hard mounted to a pump?

The pump needs about a 80mm diameter clearance... Is there enough room for that?

EDIT:
reason is im trying to keep you away from the raza bay res, after seeing how 2 died.
And honestly, it scares even me.... and im the type of person whose done every last mistake one can make with LCing.. and that raza unit scares me.

Kind of ruins the entire point. tongue.gif I'd prefer it to be all internal, or at the very MOST, have just the bare radiators external (in stock fan positions), with fans pushing through them.

I've probably got ALMOST enough room for a 120 rad there, if I don't have enough room for that. I just don't want to have to pay for the hole to be cut, since I lack any real tools. So yes, a pump will fit there.
