Control iPod from PC over wifi?

Thread Starter
Is it possible to control my iPod from my PC over wifi (home network)?

Got an iPod dock attached to some old PC speakers. Is it possible to use my PC as a remote for the music?

Something like the iPod to iTunes remote, but in reverse.

Thanks

My PC's in my office; the iPod's in the living room.

I live in a condo and can't turn up the PC speakers in the office to listen to it when I'm somewhere else!

ok let me get this straight... PC is in your office with your speakers. iPod is in the lounge but not attached to speakers or is it attached to another set of speakers?

If you are in your computer room why do you want to change what the iPod is playing in the lounge, and if you are in the lounge, how do you use the PC to control the iPod, surely its easier to just use the iPod controls?

PC attached to 5.1 surround sound in office

iPod attached to 2 PC speakers in living room.

Right now, I'm sitting in the office. I can hear music playing in the lounge. My wife's gone out and left music on. I don't want to stand up and turn it off....

The time it took to make this post would equal about the amount of time to go and turn the ipod off....

That's beside the point. It may have taken me 12 years to train my dog to get me a beer and in that time I could have gotten lots and lots of beers but it's the fact that I have my dog doing it so I don't have to get it.

Lazy yes but who gives a crap

using veency on itouch 3g
vnc viewer on pc

vnc viewer doesnt display the ipod interface . apart from that.. everything else works

there is a veency fix to resolve that issue

only problem is.. if you click on an app .. the itouch restarts o_O

so yeah.. proper way of doing it..

well.. none that i know of anyway
