Just a thought - since you're using a low-end card, I don't think you really save on electricity if you use Virtu. From initial reviews, it doesn't appear as if idle power consumption drops regardless of whether you're using integrated or discrete GPU. Given that's just an HD 6570, power consumption during video playback probably wouldn't be all that different either. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the HD 6570's video playback power consumption is lower than Intel's.

As others have mentioned, go with a bigger hard drive unless you're the type to watch recordings right away and then promptly deletes them.

Rough estimate:
1 hr HD: 6~8GB
1 hr SD: 1~2GB

Tower cases are better then desktop style cases - i'd encourage you to stick with a tower case if it doesn't bother your wife/gf.

I had the GD04 - and to change the air filters you had to open the case and use a screwdriver to unscrew them. It didn't cool that well either. I switched to a regular tower case that I put on a little wheeled chassis and now I can just pop off the bezel and pop out the filters.

Plus the bigger tower case allows me to throw in alot more hard drives. I now have cleaner wiring and better temps.. And that Ceton tuner runs pretty hot - so its something that you might want to consider..

Not sure I like that tower case in particular though - I'd get something nicer. Ceton card is nice though. I got pissed off about my GD04 case. So stuck it into my desktop with a 775 and a GA-EP45-UD3R and now it works better then ever. I determined it was motherboard that was flaky before - not the Ceton tuner.

BTW if you decide you want the GD05 and live near NYC i could let my old GD04 go super cheap. Its just a year old - and looks pretty nice from the outside. (The GD04/5/6 are all very similiar.
