sager vs asus? - Page 3

Oh dude, battery life is like 1 hour, maybe 80 minutes when you game intensely. These are powerful machines.

I get 2.5 hours or more if I'm just dinking around surfing the net. There's no way to get good battery life out of a powerful gaming laptop.

Wow I didn't expect so many comments on style, ha. This is overclock.net, not a Mac forum lol. Well anyway, I think both look cool. I've always wanted a Thinkpad, so the Sager style appeals to me at least.

Anyway, the deal breaker for me with Asus is the lack of options for matte screens on the lighter models. I want something less than 6 pounds basically. The 5165 seems to meet my needs quite well.

A couple of questions though.

1. Do those anti-glare screen protectors make a substantial difference, ie can they make a glossy screen function like a matte (long shot I guess, but doesn't hurt to try!)

2. Are there any other laptops out there with 15" screens with similar power to 5165 at less than 6 pounds?

3. I am mainly interested in playing Starcraft II on this thing. Supposedly the 555m is worse than the 6770m for this game, though the 555 performs better overall. Is this true? Are there laptops with the 6770m with similar specs to the 5165?

Thanks...Maybe I should make a new thread?

A 15" 720p screen should be fine to play starcraft on with the 555. Doesnt the 555 have 1gb or 1.5gb dedicated memory, i would just make sure the laptop you decide on has a quad core. A quad core will really help performance when play SCII.

Is the effect really the same? Is this the same as the anti glare screen cover?

6770m is a better GPU than the 555m. 555m will get you around 30 FPS on medium in a ladder game in SC2.
