Vertex 3. Where to use for no instability?

Thread Starter
I just bought a Vertex 3 120GB. Owned a Vertex 1 and I loved it. Super great drive. Still going strong.

I read Anand's review and like the numbers that I saw, so I decided to pick up the drive, but was unaware of everyone BSOD and instability problems.

I have used the drive yet, but have taken it out of the package, so I want to use it. What system should I use this in so I dont have Instability?

I have a i7 Gaming PC (X58 Chipset) with the Marvel SATA 6GBps ports (no native 6GBps)... I could use the drive as like a 2nd drive where I put my games on. Would this cause issues or is it just use a a boot drive thats the problem?

Or I could put it in my MBP 2010. No native SATA III here either, just SATA II... I know I would be using it at reduced speeds but im ok with that. Im just looking for stability.

Thanks all for any recommendations you might have.

There are more users that use them with no worries than those who have problems with them. Just try them as you intended when you purchased them, but don't format the current boot drives, keep them a while as a backup case something goes wrong.
