Thermal paste, NH-D14 & 2600k (close up pics) - Page 2

You're giving temps without your ambiant temps.
The thing you should compare is the delta between CPU temp and Ambiant Temp

But I'm sure you case isn't breathing too well.

What's you GPU temp like ?
I guess its gets hot aswell.

My rule of thumb on TIM application is that if I think I've applied enough, its probably too much....

I mentioned that it can get 100+ degrees here. I'm guessing somewhere between 80-90F ambient temps.

So i'm not that amazed by the temps of your CPU under heavy Prime95.

Average airflow + 90F amb temp I think you got it right

Anyway here is my rule : I don't go too hard on my CPU when summer comes

They were telling me that 40-43C (idle) and 60-65C (load) was a bit too much stock in another thread (with the Noctua) regardless of ambient temps. Hmm...

I reseated the heat sink with an extremely small amount of paste, gutted my PC, left the side off, and left the power supply out of the case as well as most of the wires to make for airflow, then put it in front of an air conditioner. It still got up to 88C with Prime95 I'm only at 4.5ghz (HT enabled). My voltage is 1.36. Should I turn that voltage down?

I have no idea what the problem is. Maybe the paste/heatsink takes a while to settle in or something? I'm thinking maybe to take out the mobo and check on the back plate and make sure it's really secure.
