Difference between 6870 Twin Frozr II and III

Hi guys! I have been looking at upgrading my graphics card for a long time. I did originally want a reference XFX 5870. But they are not easy to come by any more. So i decided to go for a 6870. (i know its not the same as a 5870, but its close)

Now i am going to order a 6870 today hopefully. But i need help deciding which 6870 to buy.

XFX 6870 £123.95

MSI Twin Frozr II £145.51

Now the twin frozr is 20MHz faster than the XFX card. I can easily overclock the XFX card 20MHz faster myself. But i also do realise that the Twin Frozr has better cooling. But how much better is it?

Is the Twin Frozr worth the extra money and could i overclock it more?

PS: they both come with Shotgun 2 but the XFX card also comes with Call of Pipyat.

I'd pick the MSI one over XFX, Mainly because it has an awsome cooler on it. It'll run alot cooler than it's reference counter part.

Thanks for the help Coolio. Also does the MSI have 1 or 2 xfire bridges on the top?

68xx cards are limited to two way crossfire.

I have the XFX card and the reference cooler sucks. It's not so much the heat, but the noise is unbearable.

The extra 20 for the cooler is worth it though and looking at 6950 TFII reviews it shaves about 15 degrees off from the stock reference cooler, which is the same as the one on the 6870.

I would go for the MSI since cost is so similar. When I bought mine I saved about 25 after the GPU and additional cooler, so it wasn't worth it for me compared to a GPU like the MSI you're looking at.

Which is better? The MSI Twin Frozr II or III?

The TFIII is better because of the upgraded fans/heatsink. I would just buy the cheaper one, unless you are a hardcore GPU overclocker.
