Plan on building this PC for gaming

Thread Starter
I plan on building this PC and keeping it for 2-3 years, as i have done with my PC's in the past before i move on to build a new one, also with the CPU i mention, would be best to wait and see the benchmarks for the BD? Would love for any input and suggestions, thanks! ALSO with the gpu, im really not sure which card i should get, would love the help with that as well and would like to get another one in the future as well since the MB is 3-way SLI

If you want AMD its best to wait for BD as that will be coming out shortly - GTX 580's are great cards - I would stay away from the WD Velociraptor, they are expensive, lots of heat, lots of noise - just grab a cheap SSD for boot and 1TB Samsung drive for storage, or do raid 0 with the samsung drives

Otherwise everything else looks pretty good

is there a big difference between the gtx580's and 590's that it would be worth getting a 590 instead?

There is a significant difference - the 580's will outperform the 590 by a wide margin- a 590 is about equal to 570's in SLI and it doesn't overclock very well - they are also hard to get a hold of.

Think he meant is a 590 better than a 580. Yes a Single 590 is better than a Single 580.

2x580's are better than a Single 590.

This. Also I wouldn't get a superclocked card, save the $20-$30 and overclock it yourself.

ive never used a SSD drive before, are they worth getting? i know they can get pretty expensive, anyone use a seagate 15000rpm HD before? wonder if it would be worth it as well, i know SSD is only better for booting up your OS, which i dont really care how long it takes for my OS to boot anyways, i wouldnt mind getting 2 HD's at 10000 rpm or 15000rpm and imply raid 0

SSDs are worth it. If you are playing games, you will have increased load times.

An SSD will outperform two RAPTORS in RAID 0.
