BFBC2 is a squad based game. Sticking with your squad and feeding them ammo and health while going after a marked objective together will do silly things to your score. I found it did wonders for my leveling rate. Also, each weapon's gold star is a nice XP boost when you're starting out, so take advantage of that when selecting your kit.

Unfortunately I've been cursed with the job of taking out vehicles. On every server I play on I seem to be the only engineer (or the only one concerned with tanks and choppers), so I worry about them while everyone else worries about the objective.

Going back to the leveling, it's a pain, but at the same time you'll have everything unlocked by level 20ish, so it's not a huge issue. If you don't have something unlocked by then, chances are you don't play that class enough for it to matter. Out of personal preference, I like the RPG more than the CG, but I like the AT4 more than either of the others, simply because it's easier to take out choppers (without a tracer). With guns, I like the 9A-91, which is the starting SMG you get as engineer, and you can do fine without any perks, because the irons aren't too bad on any of the guns.

If you want some easy points, whenever you see an objective (in any game mode from either side), point at the marker and press Q. It'll get little arrows around it and when you take the objective or do something with it, you get extra points. Also, throw motion mines as sniper. They may be pretty worthless in hardcore, but they give you a ton of assist points when someone dies near there.

Get yourself a nice mouse that has different DPI settings so you can switch easily. I have a Lachesis that goes up to 4000, but I rarely go up that high. It's nice to have lower settings to snipe with or if your hand is twitchy that day, but it's also nice to have higher settings when you're in the zone.

Good god man. Get a desk and a huge mouse pad like everyone else, then I think you'll be a lot better at the game!

That's fine, but when you're killing 50 guys playing offense, it doesn't really matter. What matters is taking the objective. I've gone games doing 49/15and still lost because I was the only one trying to arm MCOMS out of my team.

Again, KDR doesn't matter. It's an added bonus of actually helping your team first.

My case even better. I am only one who run positive ratio and other are under negative ratio. Well that is how multiuk servers run. xD

You can say 2nd rank next to me didn't get any kill. Pathetic humans indeed.

I've been cursed with flanking the enemy because everybody on the rest of my team is not smart enough to think about the art of war. Once you get past the low levels and get into the game, it's murdering fun lol.

My favorite tactic? Get a four wheeler and go for the MCOM station furthest away (generally A or C) and then try and take it while staying alive as long as possible so your squad can spawn on you.

It is amazing how much taking the other teams "home" MCOM can affect the flow of the game even if they have AB and almost have C (or the opposite).

Also, to rank up fast as an Assault class, always spawn on a squad mate that isn't moving too much and then instantly give them ammo right at their feet, almost always a guaranteed +20

I wanna thank everyone who posted in this thread. I'm not the OP but reading all the comments sure has improved my game immediately. I was a "hardcore" only in all other FPS but BF is different. Normal isn't as bad as I thought, and has improved my game and KDR. I never touched a medic before this thread (I was trying to lvl up my assault in HC).

I've only played a lot on xbox with friends but picked up BF for PC during a sale. Most of my friends don't PC game a lot so I was only playing HC alone... And not having much fun. This thread has made BF for PC fun!

Thanks OCN
