SteelSeries Xai Puretrak Talent

I am looking to buy a SteelSeries Xai with a Puretrak Talent, I currently own a G500 with a generic $5 mouse pad. The mouse to me seems to big even with weights it doesn't feel right when playing FPS games and RTS. How is the Xai? I see people use it and it seems rather nice.

Xai is bad on cloth pads like the talent. It always has acceleration (defective sensor) but is worse on cloth pads. I would recommend a hard pad like the 9HD or QPAD Heaton if you want the Xai.

The Xai is alright, nothing amazing. If you are used to prediction should be fine.

I see thanks.

Edit: I heard white surfaces are better for tracking. Is the Razer Scarab good? I've also heard the Xai has Negative Accel?

Edit 2: Never mind about Razer Scarab, Razer seems to make cheap products. They seem to be the Pimp my Ride of Gaming Gear. I saw that the surface wear away.

Ouch, you should return it as soon as possible.

The sensor in the xai is known to give more acceleration on clothpads and significantly lower the perfect control speed

Horer, if you stay with the Xai I would recommend a hard surface to reduce the acceleration mentioned by HaiiYaa.

Hard pads I liked were the QPAD Heaton, Steelseries 4HD/9HD, and Steelseries I-2

If you were looking at any other mice, feel free to let us know. We can definitely save you some money rather than going through a million mice laugher.gif

Oh definitely, because now I am getting confused, I just want something light/fast to work with games like CS and SC2. When I am browsing I use Palm Grip, when I play I like the Claw style since it gives me more control. My screen res is 1920 x 1080 if that helps. I read the sticky, so high DPI is seems bad.
