Getting extreamly low FPS with 560ti, help plz.

Thread Starter
So when I first got the card yesterday I was impressed that it seems to match the performance in some games to the 6950 I had.

However, now I have played more games since then and am confused and very upset. I am getting really low FPS in some games and the cards usage acts like its being bottle-necked which I severely doubt with my CPU. My specs are in my sig and I will list the games and FPS im getting.

Starcraft 2(max setting) 20-30FPS
Duke Nukem Forever (max setting) 20 FPS

I will continue test more games but those are the bad ones for now.

Games like crysis 2, BFBC2, and L4D2 im getting great FPS like I got with my 6950 around 60.

What could be up here?

EDIT: my sig says I have sli 560ti but I only have one ATM the other arriving tomorrow.

Did you fully sweep and make sure the registry was clean of all ATI/AMD remnants? My money is on the drivers having a conflict.
Also make sure you're using the latest drivers from Nvidia vs ones that may have come on a cd with the card.

did the driver sweep, and used the newest drivers.

I will be doing a full reinstall of windows later this afternoon when I get my new Mobo so that should rule out any software conflicts. I am just a tad worried that 560ti might be a poor performer in some games.

Weird. I haven't played DNF or SC2, but from what I've read neither of them are all that demanding on the gpu. Is your 560 OC'd?

No not OC'ed...yet

Just stock Nvidia 560ti. Starcraft 2 is somewhat of a more graphical game over DNF and it is somewhat CPU reliant.

On my old 6950 was getting around 135 FPS on it and now my 560ti gets 20-30 FPS on it.

A quick google search turned up this:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/starcr...-performance/8

The bench was run before the 560 Ti was launched, but the 460 pulls near 70 fps at 1200p with 4xAA... something isn't right with your system.
560ti is inferior to 6950
6950 is between 560ti and 570 in performance
So it is a downgrade but not by much
What was your fps in SCII and DNF on the 6950?
You should be easily maxing out Starcraft II, I could max it out on a single HD6870 at my friend's house.

I think it could be some driver conflict or something.

The easiest way to know would be re-installing Windows 7 if you're thinking about doing that.
