Okay, I have a spare rig that I'm not using at all and I want to make it a HTPC. 90% of this machine's usage will be to play Netflix, then the rest would be browsing the web. The only negative to the situation is that the board isn't a MircoATX, but if I could find a trade somewhere that could change.

Parts list:
Asus M2N-E
Athlon x2 5000+ BE
4x1GB ocz platinum ram... ( one heat spreader came off so it's using 3 )
Sapphire 4770 ( because it looks like I won't be able to sell it haha )
320GB HD with Windows 7 already installed
I'll be using my Vizio 32" 720p TV ( it's the ECO friendly one, so I'm not sure if that'll effect the display quality or not. )

I think that should be sufficient, what do you guys think?

The idea is to make a fully acrylic case and paint it or tint it somehow. I kind of want to make it look like a console since it will replace my 360. I was thinking of etching into the acrylic or getting a logo made that says "Gamecast" to sort of mock Gamecube and Dreamcast like in the movie, Malibu's Most Wanted.

I'm open to suggestions on the type of finish, I think Gloss might look the best, but flat may be ideal to keep dust or fingerprints from being an eyesore. I'm also not quite sure on if I want to put any LED fans on it to make it look neat, or if I want to keep it stock looking like a console would.

Noise is also important, I would like to keep this thing as quiet as possible while keeping it cool enough to function.

Any advice or input regarding performance, aesthetics, or the layout of components inside would be appreciated.

Sounds like a great idea! Be sure to post pics

Definitely go with a flat finish.... you'll be happier with it two months down the road.
As for noise, just be sure to isolate the HDD's, cd drive, and fans off of the case with decoupling hardware or rubber strips.

Thanks about the rubber tip, I hadn't thought about it yet.

Here's an idea of what I want to do for a logo...I'm not the most artistic person in the world.

not sure why it uploaded so small...

The OCN flame looks awesome I'd definitely do flat black and the colors in that logo looked pretty good. If it were me, I wouldn't use any LED fans to keep it closer to a console look if that's what you're going for. I say you're on the right track!

Are you going to paint the Acrylic?

Isn't it translucent?

Why not just get a colored acrylic?

It costs way more. I think I paid 35$ for a sheet of 2x2 and at Lowes clear acrylic sheets that are about 4X4 are around $10 if I remember from my last build.

I love the OCN flame, but not the font.... try something more elegant, like squaretype B:

Pigiarniq:
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Pigiarniq
Or Gota:

A custom font will add a level of professionalism to your build
