The best part of this 4G allows Verizon to send data for cheaper but they're going to charge more....

Sadly we've not got 4G yet, should do in one/two years though.

Bandwidth seems bad in the UK, must be awful in the US.

So far for leading countries /facepalm.
They say it's bad in the US. How about 500MB for $25 and $10 for 100mb.
A $50 dollar plan here is like 200 minutes 500mb and unlimited text....

No thanks.
Whats the point of 4G phones, without 4G service? None of the companies have 4G coverage area worth a crap. And Virgin Mobile is part of Sprint so I'm sure they will soon.

Even so, Virgin's selection is still awful. I'd rather go with Straight Talk, spend the $200 to get an AT&T phone, then swap sims with something better. Though, you end up spending a ton upfront, it's $45 for unlimited everything, and you'd get to have your choice of unlocked smartphone.

Why would they make you switch? If you're not in a contract they shouldn't be changing anything at all to your plan.

What's even funnier is that their proclaimed 4G network isn't really 4G.

Quote:
Right now, every major carrier in the US is touting a "4G" network that's either available or being rolled out. Sprint is pushing WiMax. AT&T and Verizon are pushing LTE (Long-Term Evolution). T-Mobile is pushing HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Evolved). They're all faster than the "3G" speeds than we're used to, with WiMax and HSPA+ delivering consistent, real-world speeds of anywhere from 3Mbps-12Mbps today. But a rep for the ITU told me flatly, "The fact is that there are no IMT-Advanced—or 4G—systems available or deployed at this stage." Calling their newer, faster networks "4G" is "completely marketing" by the carriers, says Gartner analyst Phil Redman.

They better not pull a fast one on me.

I've been on the same $29.99/unlimited plan for the last 11 years.

I switched to sprint but it sux soooo bad....I was getting like 56K 3G speeds on my evo then i did some fixes on the HTTP IDs or whatever and now i get anywhere from 200Kbps to 2MBps downloads (using speed test) and only pay $207 USD for 5 phones (2 evos with that ****ty $10 4G whatever plan, a blackberry, rumor touch and a simple flip phone)

I have no 4G in my area and I really wanna tether it. Thats the whole reason I got rid of ATT. Cause i had a data card for my laptop and was paying $75 a month for it and actually got to 30+GBs of useage and they wanted to shaft me.

This really suxks eventho im at about 1.2GB of useage right now on my EVO I dont really use the data on it maybe Facebook everyonce in a while some youtube but why when we have a 30Mbps wifi at school lol at home i have 768kbps DSL (yay....cheap $10 internet lol)

have some of you guys notice that ATT and Verizon who both have Iphones have terminated their Unlimited data plans and going with overages.
They are banking on the many iphone users to get more money.
