Need help with budget

Thread Starter
So I am going to buy a new pc gaming computer this august.
This is what I will be getting:

ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3,3ghz
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600mhz*
WD Caviar Black 500GB 7200rpm SATA
Corsair 850TX
MSI Twin Frozr III HD 6950 2GB*
MSI Twin Frozr III HD 6950 2GB*
COOLER MASTER Storm Sniper

I was wondering if instead of expending $600 on GPU it was wiser to low the budget on video cards and increasing the budget on the cpu.
The 1100T is the lastest amd cpu, so I wanted to know if there is a better Intel CPU than the 1100T.

Thanks
Master 990FX

Drop the 1100T, get a 1090 or 1050. Also get a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB over that drive you have there.

What resolution monitor will you have? You could probably go with two 68xx instead of two 69xx gpu's and be just as well off. That will save $100 - $200 which you could put into a better cpu. Bulldozer *should* be out by august/september.

+1 for the Spinpoint F3. Mine hasn't failed me yet
Also, I'd rather Xfire 6870's than 6950's. Save the cash for the next line of GPUs. Or get one 69xx and wait for the next line to either decide on Xfire (will be cheaper then) or a complete replacement. One 69xx will be enough for majority of games

I'll assume that's 1920x1080. So, two 6850's or 6870's will be plenty for that. Two 6950's isn't really needed unless you've got multiple monitors, or a big 30".

How does that prevent you from getting a BD?

If you're not buying for another couple months, then don't waste your time thinking about that right now. Because by then the situation will change. There will be different cpu's available, and the prices will all shift around. Wait until closer to your purchase date to make a decision based on what's available at the time.

Get the Intel 2500k:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-072-_-Product

You will have to get a different motherboard, not sure whats the best one for your budget.

And you won't need 2 6950's on a single monitor. I would go with 1 6950 or a gtx 560ti, gtx 570, or gtx 580.

That is unless you can wait for bulldozer then you should do that before you decide between Intell 2500k and bulldozer.
