People don't just go out and buy a PC, then a console an hour later, lol.

I think there's also the social aspect aswell. Passing around the keyboard and mouse just isn't quite the same as passing around the control pad.

Then there's the social aspect on the PC

Keeping your own dedi server and getting your friends there, plus some other regulars is just so much better than randomly dropping on random servers with your friends on PSN or XBL

Or just host your own game and invite your friends and regulars on XBL and PSN? I used to do that all the time on Rainbow 6 Vegas, aswell as be invited.

You don't need a dedicated server for this. They're great but not a neccessity to have fun with your friends.

Doesn't give the same level of experience IMO. A dedi server has a few benefits over just inviting. Such as meeting new people once in a while and having some degree of probability of making new "friends", lol

Dedicated servers = Having a house to chill at.

Inviting your friends to play a game = Going to the park.

Not that either isn't a great experience, but I think that the PC dedicated server is just more... dedicated.

I'm gettin back into a bitta PC gaming now, loved Mass Effect 2, gonna play witcher 2 once I get a chance to beef my system up.

But nothing compares to beer, mates, a PS3 and the latest version of FIFA. I'd be more than happy if all other games didnt exist, except FIFA and Football Manager.
