What won't happen? I understand consoles aren't going anywhere anytime soon, but the more people who realize the advantage of gaming on a PC the better.
The only reason, in my eyes, to own a console is to play exclusives. And the only reason exclusives exist are to profit off of consoles. It's sort of ridiculous, but that's the way things are. I'm kind of glad to see that consoles last more than 2-3 years, as that cuts the cost, but I do wish there was some way to upgrade hardware without getting a "next-gen" system.

easy.. mouse = Right analog stick = left and right bumpers/triggers

WASD left analog stick.

R to reload. F or V for melee. G to switch grenade types. Spacebar to jump. Q and E to lean. x is your action button. **** to crouch CTRL to prone. Z to Zoom or click the spin wheel on the mouse.

wow.. that actually is alot to take in

EDIT: the **** was a typo of Shift xD

To be fair, I don't think PC gamers have any idea how nice visuals can be on the consoles. With 6 year old hardware, they can produce things like Uncharted 2/3, God of War 3, Wipeout HD, Gears of War 3, Red Dead Redemption, etc.

Wipeout HD even runs at 1080p, which is astounding.

Yes, PC graphics can be better, but it requires significantly more power to do so.

You can click and watch the video (OP's). I have seen how 'good' consoles perform and it is pretty laughable compared to decent PC games.

....heard you like no anti aliasing consoles?

Affordable gaming PC ??? Only if you want to run it in the Low/Medium Settings.

probably only a tad bit better than a console... other than the part where you have a keyboard and mouse.

As if many PC gamers aren't just as ignorant. I'm still blown away by the garbage that fills any OCN thread related to consoles.

This thread will serve as little more than a rallying cry for those with inflated egos, looking down on people because of something as silly as the system they play games on.

This has been a silly argument for years. I have heard people honestly tell me that consoles have "better graphics" (this was in the Playstation One days!), that somehow PC gaming is for nerds and console gaming is not...I've honestly even heard that using a mouse in FPS is "cheating."

Anyway, I do think that Console vs PC is a relatively valid argument. For instance, a "budget" gaming system is roughly $700 USD and thus will have trouble with certain graphical details. An Xbox 360 and PS3 are $300 and, while they lack the detail of high end PC's, can still play modern games relatively well, but you're stuck with a controller which limits FPS and RTS.

Still, I played Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age Origins, and Bioshock on the Xbox 360 and it was an enjoyable experience. Call of Duty 4 and MW2 were terrible experiences and I stuck with my gaming PC for those, also I borrowed my friend's copy of Oblivion for the Xbox and my PC version is much, much superior. The PS3 has MLB The Show which is vastly superior to MLB2K-whatever, so I am slightly envious of PS3 owners for that.

The real Battlefield games (1942, Vietnam, 2, 2142) have always been PC minded, where as the other Battlefield games (Bad Company, Bad Company 2) have been developed for consoles. So it's no surprise that Battlefield 3 will be vastly superior on the PC.
