That 2.5 will come in handy with Triple Monitor Setups.

Good price for MSRP i bet when they're released they might be around $350 the first day or two.
It's about damn time! The pricing is way off though... c'mon EVGA, be cool.

It's not intended for 1080p setups.

MSRP: $399.99
nope.
i'd rather buy a HD6970 lightning that already has 2GB for less moneh, and OC that thing to 1.1Ghz or some ungodly number with it's superior cooling.

btw do the PWMs on the reference 570s still blow up?

The pricing isn't that bad if you think about it, although I agree that an MSRP of 379.99 would be a lot better. The only real purpose for that much VRAM is multi monitor, extreme resolution setups, in which case you're looking at SLI or possibly tri SLI anyways. And when you're buying 2-3 cards instead of just one, the price difference between this and 580s adds up. Be interesting to see a comparison of these 570s vs 1.5gb 580s in SLI at a res like 5760x1200, see how much the lack of vram would start to choke the 580

Would this card be in the set up program you think?

Reference 570s, yes. NV cheaped out on the VRMs on those and the 590s.

Is this thing technically reference though?
That's an awfully small hole to vent the hot air out of... Make it $350 and you got a 6970 killer easily in single card comparison. In 2-3-way 6970 will win with their near 100% scaling though.

Very much so. Highest vram usage I've seen was Crysis (modded/8xAA) with 2639MB.

Add one more "D" to the end of the thread subject and confuse some people.
