Clock has tuned to 3.4 and steady. My system has a total 6 20 mm fans is that a good oc on air only
post #13 of 18
I believe you mean 120mm fans. you need to take some screen shots of cpu-z and fill out the system specs. this will help us help you.

I hate to say this but this motherboard is not for overclocking
This is a 3+1 phase known to get hot and fail with processors that consume lots of power; try to never use a 3+1 with >95W TDP processor, if it doesn't fry it may not work properly i.e. over-activation of VRM protection

If you can spare a few more dollars get an

for an inexpensive $65 shipped. Much better VRMs and with thermal protection.

Will upgrade mobo soon for that price I might as well. Iwill screenshot and upload

Fixed those images for you also remember to use the "edit" button on the lower right of your post instead of double or triple posting.
Looks like a fair OC you have at the moment.

Your bus clock is at 230Mhz, setting for DDR2-1066 will run at 230Mhz x 5.33 which = above the rated spec. You should either move the bus clock back down to 200Mhz and increase the multiplier (black edition CPU) or move the bus clock up to 267Mhz so you can use the x4 multiplier to get 1066Mhz memory. Be sure voltage is set to rated.

Of course, you should bear in mind that a properly designed and cooled VRM system is very important for overclocking higher TDP processors safely, so I recommend you back down the clock speed until getting a new motherboard.

Hey Guys, I got my pc running at 3.45 ghz, memory at 1066 with the proper voltages. Ran about 6500 score on amd overdrive bench mark for overall. My big slow hard drive was the fault to that score. Otherwise, memory, cpu, and video card is all oc'ed and working beautifly. My extrenal monitor temps are stating a 28c rating. Though the internal cpu-z temp is 33c at a medium load. ( could'nt get it to peak using a bunch of software) I have the variable fane controls on my case which are all the way up yet stoll very quiet as I have used sound barrier lining and wire lume to keep the airway open. Yes it was the 120mm fans sry for my earlier post and I will use the edit option from now on. Sorry to annoy. The cooler Master Aftermarket CPU Fan I use is huge, (Almost sticks out the side of my case). So everything is cool for now. Thanks guys for the help. Rather than using software to oc I went manual and its steady as can be. Using windows media player, Photoshop cs5, steinberg cubase 5, burining a cd, doing a disk defrag and a virus scan while aero is running I got my cpu to hit 20 percent and the memory to hit 3 gigs. SOooo Im happy for now! Thanks again!

just running software to load up the cpu isn't enough to ensure stability, use something to torture test, like prime95
