Is it true that 99% of Vertex 3's are working perfectly fine?

I see so many complaints about the Vertex 3. The counter argument is that we're not hearing from the 99% of customers who are perfectly happy with their product.

Is this really such an isolated issue? I find it hard to believe if individuals have had to RMA multiple times.

I believe it's affecting a certain batch of the SSD's in my opinion.

I know 4 people that have SSD's personally, all 4 of them are perfectly fine.

Mine is perfectly fine (so far) after 2 days runtime, sleeping etc etc.

From reading both forums, it appears that it's a handful of complaints but I see a lot more sig rigs with Vertex 3's that don't have any issues..

Are there problems? Yes, it is just related to Vertex 3's.. no.

You can read Corsair's forums, Crucial's.. and OCZ's. You'll ALAWAYS here nothing but the bad and hardly anything of the good... that's just how it works.

I'm hoping it's not just a certain batch of ssd. If it is then it has to be the Sandforce controller causing it. My max iops is built with different nand then regular vertex 3 and I have or had the same problem.

I woudln't say it's exactly the Sandforce controller, but there is some culprit involved with either or.

If it was nothing but firmware -- Then you'd hear WAY WAY more complaints than what there currently is as everyone would have the issue's and not just some of them.

But if it was a certain batch, you wouldn't have such a broad spectrum of products being effected. Agility, Solid and Vertex all have the issues and there are people reporting that they just bought their drives and are having the bsod issue.

But there could also be more than one bsod issue happening as well.

Hopefully OCZ will tell is what the problem(s) were when new firmware is released.

I was extremely unlucky then because the first Vertex 3 I got (the one I bought on release day in the UK) gave me problems even with the stock 2.02 firmware. 2.06 was then the hanging/freezing one. I sent it for RMA and the replacement that arrived was Dead On Arrival - very rarely detected even in the BIOS and sometimes just getting "S.MA.R.T. ERROR" on detection during boot-up. Windows NEVER saw the drive, not even the OCZ Toolbox. So yeah, unlucky as hell!
