New Mech KB Time

Thread Starter
I bought a Topre Realforce 103-UB a while back for my super rig at home which is primarily for gaming and fun stuff like that.

I really found myself not needing the NUMPAD at all so I am thinking of bringing my Realforce to work to be cool and get work done on their beastly 1GB 1GHz workstations.

So now I may be in the market for a new daily gaming keyboard. Right now I'm basically considering the Topre tenkeyless and the Happy Hacker Pro 2 (or whatever the latest is). Just trying to see if there's a better keyboard out there in terms of speed. I'm not looking for a gaming keyboard, just a keyboard to game with. Have had awful luck with Razer, SteelSeries, Logitech, etc., and I love my Realforce.

Any suggestions? Anyone test the HH or the tenkeyless Topre? Not sure which one would suit my gaming needs more. And yeah, I do NOT need arrow keys I wouldn't think, though I'm not sure what HH's reasoning was behind removing the entire right side of the keyboard?

The HHP is a great keyboard.... just like the Topre realforce

It sounds like you know what you want, but maybe you should consider the leopold tenkeyless as an option. You can pick cherry browns or blues. Unfortunately, they're on backorder right now.

I'd recommend either a Realforce tenkeyless 86UB (variable weight) or 87UB (55g uniform weight) if you can find one. I tried gaming with HHKB but didn't like it too much. lol

If you think you would like the HHKB layout, I'd go for that. Otherwise the realforce 86 is the same as the full one, just missing the numpad.
