Hello!

I was wondering, there is much difference between having two 6870 or three 6850?

Having in mind playing Battlefield 3, TES: Skyrim , etc.

SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB x 3 ($464.99)

or

SAPPHIRE 100314SR Radeon HD 6870 1GB x 2 ($379.98)

with these

ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz*
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600mhz*
WD Caviar Black 640GB 7200rpm SATA
Corsair 850TX

And a 23" monitor (1920x1080)

nope ...just two. and to be honest, theres not much difference between 6850 or 6870 xfire.they both scale really well. i also found it disappointing that two cards where the limit for theses cards. i run a 28'' monitor with a higher resolution with no problems in game.

Why don't you simply take one or two 6950?

What's disappointing? You can still crossfire 6870's and get the best price/performance of any of these options. Or if you're set on tri/quad firing in the future, get a 6970 for now and start saving.

There is a 6850 with 2 cf terminals, no idea if software would support it. It is the OEM card, I think Power Color makes it. I would get 2 6870's.
