and i dont really remember any other big things that made an impact ... but ibm is involved in the hypertransport consortium iirc ....


+ lots of other ibm research that made its way into real world product ... and yes ibm do sells some cpu's and computers and stuff .... so in the last 15 years they did do an impact

All a CEO in these companies can do is wisely giving money to the right research and kiboshing the bad stuff.

IBM is one of those companies that when you look at the numbers, they are doing great, Apple may look like the big boy in the technology industry, but Microsoft and IBM are still bigger.

What AMD needs is for their tech to be used and developed for much like how Nvidia and Intel give out their insentives for developers to code for them. AMD matches Intel/Nvidia in terms of performance on the interger scale (before Sandy Bridge) where AMD is currently in the lead over their GPU market for the past 2 generations.

AMD needs a better marketing plan. Hopefully this CEO can deliver.

This was for the client side, not server. They are already doing wonders on the server side. Heck, Starwars was compiled on AMD chips. 8D
