Moving to a smartphone - Page 3

I have the Thunderbolt & yes the phone is fantastic BUT you will need to buy the 2750 mah extended battery if you want to use it all day long. I was getting about 6-8 hours of really good use out of my stock but now all i gotta say is WOW with the new battery the phone lasts forever.

Computers don't have expensive contracts. Plus, the tech isn't advancing all that quick compared to a year or two ago, my HTC desire is a year old and its keeping up with the best.

Alright, I am extremely tempted by the 4g speeds offered by LTE, looking at the available phones the Thunderbolt looks like the best choice so far, I wish I could get a qHD screen or a dual core but peak speeds of 25Mb/s are very tempting. Anyone with this phone have any beefs with it or words of encouragement? Also does anyone know if it is possible to root the phone and update to android 2.3?

edit: it looks like the gingerbread update is coming for the thunderbolt before next month so that settles my decision.
