Monitor arm for 27" or 30"?

Thread Starter
I don't own a 27" or 30" yet, I'm still waiting until I build my new desk. Hope to have it done before BF3 comes out.

I was looking on Ergotron, but their stuff seems to be overpriced.

Anybody know of a solid arm that could support a U3011? Under $100 would be fantastic.

You probably won't find one for under $100. Monitor mounts are expensive for some reason so make one yourself with some steel tubing and clamps.
Once again...

That's a wall mount though, I want a desk mount.

could build a hutch for the desk (or a partial hutch)

im thinkning about building an H-shaped hutch to mount my monitor to so that i can mount speakers to each side as well. then i will have two speakers mounted to the "hutch" plus two more further out, and a center channel mounted maybe above.

honestly anything with an adjustable arm that is made for monitors that big is going to be costly or junk (and lets just assume you dont want your monitor falling because the arm broke). wall mounts are cheaper even for the good ones.

unless you are just looking for a stand... like the one monitors already come with lol

Well I could, it's just that wall-mounts don't tend to have the z-axis telescoping I'd want. They usually just tend to be able to pan left and right, swivel, and telescope only a few inches. I'd like to have a great deal of motion with it. Kind of like the light the dentist uses, obviously not as much though; like your average arm mount.

Well I found some desk mounts for under 100 but none of them supported 30 in monitor.
