I don't know if this thread even matters anymore but...I would say that maybe the news is waiting for something real to happen there. You can't cover a nuclear disaster that hasn't happened right? They are covering the flooding and possibly that's all that has happened or that they know has happened. You know that if the reporters even thought they were being told lies they would report that fact right away as being suspicious.
The government can't leave people in the dark when there is a serious threat. They know that, after all their jobs depend on keeping us happy. Being so close to the Japanese incident it would be unwise to suggest in any way that something even close to that could happen here. Unless absolutely necessary. Nuclear emergency is to fresh in American minds.
