Corsair ax850 not working?

Thread Starter
This is my first pc build, so I was VERY careful on plugging everything up. As soon I was done with everything I turned the psu on and... nothing happened. There where no led lights, no fans turned on, nothing. I can't think of any possible thing I could of done wrong, which leads me to believe that my psu is a DOA.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what I may have done wrong?
Maybe there is a common mistake ppl usually do with modular psu's.
(Yes, I switch the 0/l on the back)

Also, I plugged in the psu when I first received it in the mail w/o hooking up to a motherboard (because I didn't know any better). Could this have been the problem?

I'm hoping its something I did wrong because I DON'T want to go through the RMA process. I'm tired of waiting. I just want to use my PC.

I didn't see you state it although u probably did, but just in case: do you have a power button on your mobo? Try using that instead of your case button just in case

I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD4-B3

link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-494-_-Product

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a power button. Unless I'm blind and I don't see it.

Did you flip the switch on the back to the correct position?

Cable to the wall outlet plugged in securely?

Are both pins for the motherboard plugged in on the PSU side?

Jump start the psu, by putting a pin in the green and any black atx connector, then turn it on. If fans spin in ur case ur psu is fine. Searxh the forums on how to jump start

That's actually what I have been trying to do. Unfortunately, all the cables that came with the ax850 are ALL black. Nothing is colored, which is actually why I liked the psu even more... didn't know I would of ran into this problem.

Face the 24 pin cable so that the clip is on your right, then paperclip together pin 3/4 or 4/5 on the right side down together.

It's either 3/4 together or 4/5 together and not all 4 together. You're connecting a ground to the power on in the diagram. Make sure the switch is on the off position on the back. You might also need to hook up a fan so that you have something drawing power.
