Hi

i need a little help i want to buy a new video card so i took a look at the Sapphire Ati 6990 and it says i need 2x150watt 8pin connectors now i have 2x8pin connectors but one is powering my motherboard. anyway i also have 2 sets of 6pin+8pin connectors and i was wondering if i could just use the 2 8pins and leave the 2 6pins just hanging there.

my PSU is a silverstone strider ST85F 850w

The motherboard shouldn't have an 8-pin PCI-E connector hooked up to it.

I just hopped on google & took a quick gander at your PSU. Yeah, you can implement what's been described.
