Best AMD AM3 CPU cooler for $80? - Page 2

There are a ton of great coolers out there. Among them some self contained watercoolers.
I've been using the CM hyper 212+ for awhile and I don't see myself replacing it any time soon. It keeps my Phenom 955 under 60c with a 1GHz OC. (2 generic fans in push/pull)

I would go with a NH D-14, Archon or Silver Arrow. Which is the top 3 air cooler on the market to date.
Considering the D-14 .. may pull the trigger.

Noctua has a large list of motherboard compatibility as well.

if you ram is not taller than Dominators with the tops popped off it will fit fine.

edit: and people suggesting the h50.. why? It performs around the same as a 40 dollar or less Mugen 2. The only reason I'd recommend it is for size.

H50/60 its place saver. You won't have problems with changing ram unless like some other coolers <.<.

almost all 60$ and above CPU coolers are huge so if you have concerns about that point then get a cheap one like the CM 212+ and save money for something else

I read a lot of reviews that said the Ripjaws fit perfectly under it, $90 is a bit more than I want to spend as I have other things to buy, BUT, a good CPU cooler for overclocking is not something to skimp on.

Yeah, the H50 doesn't seem to be a very tempting cooler with the price to performance, $70 and for $20 more I can get the D-14.

Edit : I have a decent amount of room in the case for a cooler, and modifying is a specialty of mine, I can make anything fit, just trying to get a better grasp on what would be the best for me. The D-14 is tempting but I'm not exactly set on it. I plan on grabbing a new case eventually.

Been considering the 212, really wanted to order off Newegg because they get items to my house usually the next day, I've never had a product take longer than 2 days to get here, it's great. But one, they're charging WAY too much, and two, it's out of stock.
